THE COLUMBUS MUSIC CO-OP GRANT PROGRAM

Making Columbus a Better Place Through Music

The purpose of the CMC Grant Program is to support musicians that work to build and sustain the Central Ohio music community and/or Central Ohio neighborhoods or the community as a whole. Our grants support local efforts to sustain and expand access to music or musicians that use their art to build neighborhood investments or music-related projects that help strengthen Central Ohio neighborhoods or the community as a whole.

We fund musicians or music projects that:

* Have demonstrated or will demonstrate a commitment to strengthening the Central Ohio music community
* Have demonstrated or will demonstrate a commitment to strengthening Central Ohio neighborhoods or the community as a whole
* Identify and create innovative strategies for exposing more residents of Central Ohio to Central Ohio musicians and music opportunities
* Develop new sources of capital and development tools for the music community

Examples of musicians or projects that could be funded by the CMC:

* Successful relationship with community-based organization or project
o A musician or group of musicians who have organized benefits or events that make a significant difference to a community organization or project
* Innovative new projects
o A musician or group of musicians who have started a project to bring free music lessons or music opportunities for children

The CMC is looking for INNOVATION and DEMONSTRATED COMMITMENT TO STREGTHENING THE MUSIC COMMUNITY OR CENTRAL OHIO AS A WHOLE. There is not a template for what will win an award. This grant or grants will reward an individual or group of individuals who have already demonstrated commitment to the music community or the grant will act as seed money for an innovative new project or initiative.

So if this sounds like something you’re interested in, get a RFP and apply for this grant!
