The 5th Annual Rock Potluck endeavors to bring together musicians from all corners of the Columbus music scene to foster community and celebrate artistic collaboration.

This year’s event features 41 amazing musicians representing 41 different bands. They will be jumbled up randomly to form eight new super-groups for this one night only! They get together the afternoon of Dec. 5th to fashion a band name, create two original songs and learn one cover. Then, they’ll play what they have created for us that Saturday night at Skully’s.

They meet each other, make this music and perform it live all in the span of about ten hours, which makes for a very exciting and entertaining experience for the players and audience alike.

This year will take it a step further, filming the entire process for a feature-length documentary to be screened in the Spring. We’ll meet some of the artists involved and learn what their daily lives are like and what it takes to put something like this together. We’ll film the rehearsals where all the music is made – the social interaction, the process, the magic. And, of course, we’ll witness the best of the live performances. So, grab your friends and come be a part of this historic document!

Also, please consider bringing a dish of any sort (Crockpot, cookies, cakes, whatever) to share as part of the actual potluck at 9pm.

Music will begin at 10pm sharp! It’s 21+ with a $5 cover (a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Columbus Music Co-Op).
