Hey there. It’s Wednesday and only 3 days until the Parking Lot Blowout on 7/11 at Surly Girl! We’re gonna do 3 band spotlights today to get you through hump day!

WINTER MAKES SAILORS!
Winter Makes Sailors is the solo project of talented musician, Sean Gardner, who you may know from Bookmobile, The Kyle Sowashes, Melty Melty, Kopaz and Denovo. We are very excited that he’ll be doing a special performance with a full band this Saturday at 5:15 p.m.

“Employed by the love of collecting vintage instruments and recording gear, Sean Gardner produces home recorded pop songs full of simple, catchy melodies under the moniker Winter Makes Sailors.
He has been playing in the Columbus, Ohio music scene for nearly a decade and in addition to the Winter Makes Sailors project, he shares song-writing duties in Columbus bands Melty Melty and Bookmobile. You’ll also find him helping out on-stage with his friends in The Kyle Sowashes and The Receiver. This could explain why he has been slow to finish an album.
Look for his first record to be released in November, 2009 or thereabouts.”
