Help us spread the word. There’s even a question in there on how the creative economy/community can be improved – and we’ve included shared medical benefits as a choice.
The Creative Columbus survey is now live at
http://www. communityresearchpartners. org/CreativeColumbus/.
We want to make sure that everyone in our region’s music industry is counted.
What is Creative Columbus?
Central Ohio has diverse and thriving creative businesses, organizations, and individuals. Just think about Abercrombie, “the Wex”, Ballet Met, the Short North, Couchfire, InVentive, CATCO, Design Central, Resource Interactive… the list goes on. Or the writers, designers, architects, dancers, photographers, gallery directors, musicians and web gurus that you know.
Creative Columbus is taking stock of this creative economy - its scale, impact, and potential. We hope that if we can inventory what’s here, we can create more opportunity for business and culture in our region.
The first step is data. This study will identify how the various creative businesses and organizations, workforce and talent are represented and connected in Central Ohio.
To help us measure this economy and community, we have released an online survey (open November 10 to November 25) and are looking for everyone to participate in this “creative census”: young and old; mainstream and fringe; big corporations and sole proprietors; for-profit, non-profit, and public.
Stand up and be counted!
Creative Columbus is funded by the Columbus College of Art & Design, Compete Columbus, the Columbus Foundation, the Franklin County Commissioners, the Greater Columbus Arts Council, and The Ohio State University. Community Research Partners is conducting the research, with assistance from the Columbus Chamber of Commerce.
