We wanted to pass on some information about 500kin365.org - Cincinnati and Columbus musician Katie Reider died at the beginning of July from a rare facial tumor - she was only 30 years old and her family has some pretty hefty medical bills now. Katie’s loved ones have launched this website to raise money to help with those bills and to keep Katie’s music alive. They are trying to reach 500,000 people in 365 days and you can currently download a bunch of her songs for a $1.00 donation…check it all out here:   www.500kin365.org

THANK YOU COLUMBUS!

The CMC has been recuperating from the Parking Lot Blowout but we must say THANK YOU for many things!

#1-The Blowout was the most amazing event we’ve ever had. We raised more money than any event we’ve had and doubled the fund for the Columbus Musician’s Assistance Program. Thanks to the bands, volunteers and local music fans who came out and made the day a success. We couldn’t have done it without you! Picture and video links coming SOON!

#2-Thank you to everybody who nominated the CMC and thanks to the Columbus Alive for naming Jess and Erin 2008 People to Watch! We are so honored to be 2008’s Good Neighbors! You can read about it in today’s Columbus Alive or online here:

http://www.columbusalive.com/?sec=upfront&story=alive/2008/0717/u-people05.html

Columbus Alive 2008 People to Watch Erin Moore and Jess Faller

#3-Thanks to everyone who has been donating to the Noel Sayre Memorial Fund. Noel was an amazing friend and musician…we miss him terribly and we cannot say thank you enough to everyone who has been donating to help take care of funeral expenses and to create a future music scholarship at Ohio University in his name.

Noel’s obituary by Aaron Beck here:

If you would like to make a donation, contact the CMC at columbusmusiccoop@gmail.com.

More updates soon…we’ve got a big show coming up in August and workshops at the Grandview Library in September and October!
